Overview

Butirok's Lechon Manok & Liempo offers a compelling taste of traditional Filipino grilled dishes right in the heart of Sampaloc, Manila. Located along Calamba Street, this unassuming grill spot has earned a loyal following thanks to its expertly roasted chicken and perfectly grilled pork belly, staples that define the brand's menu.

The main dishes, lechon manok and hiniwang liempo, are where Butirok's truly shines. The chicken arrives tender and flavorful, with a golden, fragrant skin that entices with every bite. The liempo, meanwhile, boasts a satisfying crunch paired with juicy, rich meat—delivered in a way that maintains authenticity and balance, without sacrificing succulence. Both are complemented well by classic dipping sauces like liver sauce or vinegar, enhancing the natural flavors instead of overpowering them.

Butirok's manages to capture what many seek in Filipino grilling: a perfect marriage of savory depth and simplicity. The meals offer comfort and familiarity, appealing both as a hearty ulam or a satisfying pulutan. This versatility makes it a great choice for families, groups of friends, or anyone craving well-edited Filipino flavors without the fuss of fine dining.

The space itself is modest but inviting, drawing crowds that often queue during dinner hours—a testament to the quality and value that regulars appreciate. The location in Sampaloc makes it accessible for locals and visitors wanting an authentic, no-frills dining experience where flavor and tradition take center stage.

Overall, Butirok's Lechon Manok & Liempo is a must-visit for those passionate about Filipino grilled fare. It stands shoulder to shoulder with more established names, delivering satisfying portions with consistent flavor. Whether it's a quick meal or a shared feast, this spot balances price, taste, and experience, making every order worth coming back for.

The smell of roast chicken and liempo along Calamba St. will lead you here. Ordered their Combo 3 (P380) for a whole chicken and a whole slab of liempo served with liver sauce or vinegar. They also have sisig (pork or chicken). It's the right amount of salty fornyoy to enjoy the real taste of the meat.
